Professionally, I am a project manager for GP Strategies Corporation, a global performance improvement company.
Previously, I founded Malcora, a consultancy specializing in cost analysis in the government sector and managed education systems & technology for Carle Foundation Hospital, among the nation's top 100 hospitals, where I oversaw all e-learning production, learning management, systems/technical training, and audio/video support. Prior to that, I owned several small consulting companies. In Nov. 2010, I sold Quasar Strategies, Inc., a strategic communications consulting firm, and Campaign Advisory Corp., a political consulting company.
I've always been involved in public service. I was elected to the Champaign County Board in November 2004 and served through two full terms, until November 2012, where I chaired the Finance Committee. I also chaired the Labor Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. I served on the Policy, Personnel, and Appointments Committee from 2006-2010, served on the Environment and Land Use Committee from 2004-2006, served as liaison to the Regional Office of Education, and was co-author of the Champaign County Strategic Plan. I've been recognized as a Friend of Agriculture from 2004-2010 by the Champaign County Farm Bureau Political Involvement Committee.
Outside of my responsibilities on the County Board, I am past chair of the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. I continue to serve on two committees through the EDC - the Urbana-Champaign Angel Network (UCAN) steering committee and the High Tech Advisory Committee. I also was previous chair of the Historic Preservation Steering Committee for the City of Urbana, a Plan Commissioner for the City of Urbana, and have helped many local, regional, and statewide Democratic candidates and campaigns.
I have an AB in liberal arts and sciences from the University of Illinois, an AS in elementary education from Parkland College, and I attended Urbana High School.
