Brendan McGinty

About Me

Professionally, I manage systems & technology for Carle Foundation Hospital, among the nation's top 100 hospitals. I oversee all e-learning production, learning management, systems/technical training, and audio/video support. I also offer consulting services in executive coaching, strategic planning, process improvement, e-learning, and PR. In Nov. 2010, I sold my two consulting companies - Quasar Strategies, Inc., a strategic communications consulting firm, and Campaign Advisory Corp., a political consulting company.

I've always been involved in some kind of public service. I was elected to the Champaign County Board in November 2004, where I chair the Finance Committee. I also chair the Labor Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. Previously, I served on the Policy, Personnel, and Appointments Committee from 2006-2010, served on the Environment and Land Use Committee from 2004-2006, and was co-author of the Champaign County Strategic Plan. I've been recognized as a Friend of Agriculture from 2004-2010 by the Champaign County Farm Bureau Political Involvement Committee.

Outside of my responsibilities on the County Board, I am the most recent past chair the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. I serve on two committees through the EDC - the Urbana-Champaign Angel Network (UCAN) steering committee and the High Tech Advisory Committee. I also was previous chair of the Historic Preservation Steering Committee for the City of Urbana, a Plan Commissioner for the City of Urbana, and have helped many local, regional, and statewide Democratic candidates and campaigns.

I have an AB in liberal arts and sciences from the University of Illinois, an A.S. in elementary education from Parkland College, and I attended Urbana High School.
